Shannon-Hurley-1

Hello! My name is Shannon Hurley (she/her)

Shannon Hurley offers Psilocybin-Assisted Psychotherapy

Born and raised on Treaty 6 Territory, Shannon’s journey into the realm of wellness and energy work started when she was younger. Although she did not know it at the time, she was able to attune to the energy of those around her and animals. This guided her ability to see animals and individuals as more than what was being presented physically.

Through her own wellness journey and education in the realm of energy work, she has been able to offer both formal clinical and energetic ways of healing.

She began formally working in the mental health and addictions area in 2015, after receiving her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Regina. She has held various social work and addiction counselling positions in Saskatoon, including positions at the Irene and Leslie Dube Centre, Calder Centre, and a variety of community mental health roles, such as HIV case management. She is known for her insightful questioning and willingness to challenge societal norms.

Driven by curiosity and a desire to learn, Shannon later pursued a master’s degree in social work which she completed in July 2019. Shannon found her passion in community mental health work where she worked with individuals experiencing chronic suicidal ideation, PTSD, C-PTSD, self-harm, mood disorders, concurrent disorders, substance use disorders, and other complex mental health needs.

During this time, she noted how disconnected individuals were from their authentic selves, their sense of being, and from the beauty of their own energy. She became particularly concerned with the limitations of medication-based and non-somatic approaches being utilized in the healthcare systems. Holistic and wellness approaches were often not considered or dismissed, resulting in individuals being expected to try and fit into a one size fits all model disregarding the uniqueness of their own journeys.

This led Shannon to develop a keen interest in becoming trained in formal therapies that offered a somatic component, such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

From there, she began to explore the potentials of psychedelic assisted therapy and energy work as means to open paths of connection to one’s authentic self neurologically and energetically.
