A growing number of peer-reviewed studies have investigated psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy in the context of serious conditions, including, but not limited to, treatment-resistant depression, disordered eating, post-traumatic stress disorder and end-of-life distress. These studies are conducted in controlled settings and involve careful screening, therapeutic preparation, and integration.
