Experiential Approaches to Working with Dreams and Psychedelic Visions

WORKSHOP-IMAGES-(1)

In this 4-hour session, participants will learn, experience, and begin to practice the essential elements of Embodied Experiential Dreamwork, ideal for both processing dreams and integrating psychedelic experiences and visions.

Embodied Experiential Dreamwork practices are a safe, gentle yet deeply profound way to integrate visionary experiences – which can include both dreams and psychedelic experiences. This seminar will cover the three main practices of ‘EE’ Dreamwork: finding help and support in a dream; becoming or dialoguing with a dream element; and dreaming the dream onward. These evidence-based practices have been found to be helpful with dissipating the charge embodied during intense experiences and to help metabolize and integrate the depth of experience that can arise in dreams and visions.

At each stage of the process, participants will be invited to experience and debrief what they are learning. A demonstration of the process will be followed by structured practice in small groups or dyads. The session will close with questions and comments about these practice sessions, and about applying EE dreamwork processes in general.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: After attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the foundational principles of EE dreamwork and the integration of dreams and visionary states into therapeutic practice.
  • Identify resources and helpers within dreams and visionary states and apply relevant theoretical and practical approaches to access them.
  • Demonstrate the process of embodying a dream element through theoretical understanding and experiential practice.
  • Facilitate active imagination or re-entry into a dream/vision to explore and carry forward its therapeutic insights.
  • Analyze clinical examples or demonstrations to deepen understanding of dreamwork application in practice.
  • Conduct a full session of dreamwork in small groups or dyads and integrate learning through guided debriefing.
  • Engage in reflective inquiry and dialogue to consolidate knowledge and clarify the application of dreamwork techniques in clinical settings.

PARTICIPANTS: Practitioners who are interested in enhancing their clinical skill set and exploring how Embodied Experiential Dreamwork practices can be applied to processing dreams and integrating psychedelic visions.

SCHEDULE: January 24th from 12-4 pm PT

LOCATION: Online, Zoom link will be provided prior to the session
