Overwhelmed by applications from thousands of Canadians seeking access to psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy for conditions like end-of-life distress and depression, and with very few professionals trained in how to administer the therapy, TheraPsil was prepared to educate up to 500 specialists over the next year.
Other organizations, such as Alberta-based ATMA Journey Centers and B.C.-based Numinus Wellness, have also assisted medical professionals in applying for CDSA exemptions. Since that initial batch of exemptions, however, TheraPsil says Health Canada has failed to approve any additional health care professionals.
