We’re pleased to welcome Angela Cara, MA, RCC, as TheraPsil’s newest provisional trainer. Angela will be co-leading the upcoming Victoria training with Dr. Bruce Tobin in June 2025. As a skilled practitioner and the Clinical Director of Wise Body Counselling, Angela brings invaluable expertise to TheraPsil’s training program. Angela Cara, MA, RCC, is the Clinical Director of Wise Body Counselling. With a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from the class of 2009 at Adler University, Angela specializes in embodiment, somatic dreamwork, and psilocybin therapy. She is currently pursuing certification as a Sex Therapist with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
In her therapy practice, Angela blends traditional psychological theories, primarily Jungian-oriented therapy and dreamwork, with the experiential practices of mindfulness and Focusing-oriented therapy. Her personal passion continues to inform her work. Angela believes that the body’s wisdom holds the wholeness of the person right here in the present and that we discover this when we practice gentle ways of opening to all of what we are carrying and allow ourselves to sense into and move with what’s there.
Angela’s dedication to women’s sexuality, depth psychotherapy, and embodied spirituality is seen in her ongoing psychotherapy training, the women’s circles she facilitates, and her psilocybin supervision groups. She’s inspired by the resilience she sees every day in her work.
Angela’s personal relationship with psilocybin began 25 years ago. She considers herself fortunate to have sat in ceremonial journeys with Amazonian medicine in Peru with gifted and ethical curanderos who held very deep traditional knowledge and connections to cosmology and the natural world. She is also very grateful for her experiences learning with Bruce Tobin for the last 13 years and sitting alongside him during some of the first Section 56 journeys.
