A two-part psychedelic training pathway delivered live online, designed for practitioners in Aotearoa New Zealand.
What this cohort prepares you for
This cohort is for practitioners in Aotearoa New Zealand who want thorough training in psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy, grounded in clinical practice and adapted for local context.
- Understand the legal and ethical landscape in Aotearoa New Zealand, including authorised prescriber pathways.
- Apply TheraPsil’s intake, assessment, inclusion criteria, and follow-up protocol to identify who may benefit.
- Build preparation, dosing-session support, and integration skills using trauma-aware frameworks.
- Develop competency in neuropharmacology, medication interactions, contraindications, and risk mitigation.
- Work skillfully with end-of-life distress and complex presentations, including family support and palliative care considerations.
- Engage with NZ cultural dimensions, including Māori health, equity, and local realities.
Applicants are reviewed individually to confirm fit, professional grounding, and alignment with TheraPsil’s standards of care.
- Medical and nursing practitioners (MD, RN, NP)
- Mental health practitioners (psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers)
- Allied and supportive care (ND, paramedics, first responders)
- Death doulas and recognized pastoral or spiritual counsellors
- Other related graduate diplomas or clinical disciplines reviewed case-by-case
Applicants should be in good standing with a professional body that has a Code of Ethics and a disciplinary process.

Is this the same as TheraPsil’s standard Fundamentals program?
It follows the same Fundamentals structure and clinical foundations, with additional NZ-specific teaching and guest faculty focused on Aotearoa New Zealand’s regulatory, clinical, and cultural context.
Does this allow me to prescribe psilocybin in New Zealand?
Prescribing and clinical authority depend on your scope of practice and New Zealand’s regulatory requirements. This training provides evidence of appropriate training for practitioners pursuing authorised prescriber pathways.
Are payment plans or bursaries available?
