TheraPsil Welcomes Dr. Ingrid Pacey as Clinical Director to Expand Psychedelic Therapy Training Programs

 

VANCOUVER, BC, June 27, 2024 – TheraPsil is pleased to announce that Dr. Ingrid Pacey has been named its new Clinical Director, where she will oversee all of TheraPsil’s training programs. With a rich history in psychedelic therapy, research, and altered states of consciousness, Dr. Pacey brings a wealth of experience and passion to her new role. She succeeds TheraPsil founder Dr. Bruce Tobin, who expresses confidence that her leadership will continue to uphold the high standards and ethical practices that TheraPsil is known for:

With the increasing focus on training and MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, there is no one in Canada more eminently qualified to be TheraPsil’s Clinical Director than Dr. Ingrid Pacey.

Dr. Pacey was introduced to LSD therapy in the 1960s and has since dedicated her career to helping trauma survivors heal through psychedelic therapies. As a retired psychiatrist, she remains deeply committed to this field. She trained in Holotropic Breathwork with Stan Grof from 1987 to 1990 and led Holotropic Breathwork groups for 15 years. She also served as the Principal Investigator for the MAPS Phase 2 study of MDMA-assisted therapy from 2010 to 2016 in Vancouver, and she has been training practitioners in psilocybin and MDMA-assisted psychotherapy with TheraPsil since 2021.

In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Pacey is a mother, grandmother, feminist, and queer elder who has shared her life with her partner for 40 years. 

Reflecting on her new role, Dr. Pacey said:
